Help toddlers use their words
You can help children learn letters and words by putting labels at eye level on everything. A picture with a word helps teaches and even learn to spell a word. Put labels on things that interest your child. Discuss it and point it out as you go about your day. If you have a child that points or cries for what he wants, help by giving them the word or help them express what he is feeling. Use everyday experiences to teach. Help your child make a shopping list of things he likes to eat. Books for their age is another way to teach and help children read.
Problem Solve
Encourage your child to investigate a solution to a problem he may encounter. When he comes to you for help or ask a question. Help him explore the situation. Point out and explain. This starts the process of problem solving and engagement.
